As we continue exploring a second round of EfficientGovNow, we want to let the residents of Northeast Ohio weigh in on what they want to see next. Citizen engagement played a huge role in the success of the inaugural program, and it’s one of the reasons we want to keep the momentum going.
Last week we e-mailed a brief survey to the 12,000+ residents who cast qualified online ballots during the first round of EfficientGovNow. Their feedback will help us design various aspects of the second round, including:
- Number of grant winners
- Types of winning projects
- Whether the winning projects must achieve a minimum level of cost savings
- Whether we should encourage the use of the grant for a specific purpose
Additionally, respondents have the opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of empowering the public to determine the grant recipients and to provide general suggestions for the next round.
While the survey is brief, we are certain the information gathered will be very valuable in helping us design an effective program. Check our blog again next week, as we will post the survey results.
