Lake County Fire Departments Ready to Share

Making government more efficient doesn’t require consolidation, but it does demand collaboration and sharing. Three fire departments in Lake County are showing the way with a plan to share a new fire truck and ambulance. The three departments have submitted an abstract to EfficientGovNow.

Governments only have until April 15 to submit an abstract to be eligible for some of the $300,000 in grant money being made available by the Fund for Our Economic Future in this program. Encourage your local government officials to follow the lead of the fire departments serving the Village of Fairport Harbor, Grand River and Painesville Township.

The fire departments say their plan to share two new vehicles will save the three communities more than $1 million. Now that’s government efficiency.
